Research Area

1. Analysis of elements in soil samples

Soil samples are prepared by sequential extraction methods, enabling the extraction of bound metal fractions. Based on the elemental content in fractions, their bioavailability and chemical risk assessment are assessed.

2. Analysis of elements in plant / fungi samples

Plants/fungi samples are prepared by microwave digestion. The analysis of the elemental content in plants/fungi examines the possibilities of their use for phytoremediation/microremediation purposes.

3. Analysis of elements in food samples

Food samples are prepared by appropriate digestion methods (wet, microwave, etc.). Based on the content of certain macro- and microelements in food, a risk assessment of daily/weekly/monthly food intake is performed. Accordingly, the authenticity of the product (seafood, wine) can be discussed.

4. Isotopic content of Pb

The origin of lead pollution sources in the environment can be defined by the analysis of the lead isotope ratios.
